Yolie is a solo songbird with a guitar in hand and a heart on her sleeve. Her dreamy voice and moody melodies have been known to draw people in and break their hearts. At 16 years old, she began playing guitar and writing music. Since then, she has expanded her love of music by taking up other instruments, including bass guitar, drums, and piano. She’s been involved in many musical projects since age 16, which she has composed and arranged music for, one of which is currently formed as a duo named “Themselves”, with Dallas guitarist and singer-songwriter Gary White, where she is able to use her skills as multi-instrumentalist. Another project she is now involved with as a vocalist is a Linda Ronstadt tribute, which is composed of members from Dallas’s premier Fleetwood Mac tribute, Forever Mac.
Yolie began recording her compositions in 2016 at Empire Sound in Dallas, which she played drums, bass, guitars and keyboards for. In May of 2018, she signed with CSP Records with her upcoming single “End”, being released in September of 2018. She is continuing to compose more original songs that will be released in 2019. She is also fluent in Spanish and writes music proficiently in both languages, using hints of her latin culture in her instrumentation.
For Yolie, the song writing process is very personal and special, as it is an avenue for which she can connect with people that may feel hopeless or alone in the world. Music has always played a very important role in her life and she hopes to give back to the world what she has been given, through music.
